Kiwanis International’s PR and Marketing Ambassadors
Kiwanis International is excited to announce the creation of a new team that will spread the word about Kiwanis and increase enthusiasm about Kiwanis activities among the people who matter most to our organization: existing members, potential new members, community partners, business leaders and the media. The TAG Team PR and Marketing Ambassadors are a part of the TAG (Together Achieving Growth) team to strengthen the Kiwanis organization so it may continue making a difference for communities and children for another 90 years. The 100 Marketing Ambassadors were selected by their districts based on certain criteria and requirements. To prepare them for their new role, Marketing Ambassadors will be participating in a two-day workshop in late July. At the training, they not only will share and brainstorm ideas of how to promote Kiwanis, but they also will hone important skills such as: becoming a spokesperson to the media, creating key messages for various audiences, and building a marketing plan. For 2005, PR and Marketing Ambassadors will focus their efforts on Kiwanis International’s new brand campaign, “One Can Make a Difference.” As will be announced at International convention, the campaign will better define and create a greater awareness of the Kiwanis name and service mission. In addition to the PR and Marketing Ambassadors’ efforts, each club will receive a tool kit in September containing a wealth of campaign marketing materials for use in its local community. Your support in this effort and collaboration with the PR and Marketing Ambassadors are instrumental to the success of the “One Can Make a Difference” campaign. TAG PR and Marketing Ambassadors will work hand-in-hand with TAG Growth Team members to create marketing ideas to bolster recruitment and retention efforts, and increase awareness of the Kiwanis service mission among the general public. Ideas may include participating in speaking engagements, conducting media relations activities, and building community partnerships. To encourage members and Ambassadors to share their thoughts on marketing outreach and share success stories, we will be dedicating a section of the member Web site to the PR and Marketing Ambassador initiatives.
